The section of Ninewells Wood put up for sale through John Clegg & Co. has now been sold.
There is currently no news on the remaining 10 acres.

 

A 15 acre section of the Ninewells Wood was put up for sale through a local agent, John Clegg & Co.

The Welsh Assembly have ratified the Article 4 directive on Ninewells Wood during May 2005.

 

March 2005 Campaigns to protect other woodlands within Monmouthshire have started in the villages of Cross Ash and Devauden,  more details here.

The Article 4 Directive for ninewells wood has finally been served by Monmouthshire County Council.  

 

Following the decision by Monmouthshire County Council to apply an Article 4 Directive under the Town & Country Planning (General Development Order) 1995 on a section of Ninewells Wood Catbrook, the Ninewells Conservation Group (NCG) members are celebrating a successful conclusion to their six month campaign to ensure that any sub division and resale of the woodland will be subject to planning control.

The Welsh Assembly issued a letter to all Chief Planning Officers in Wales on 14 December  highlighting the processes availble to the councils to control the sub division of land.

Our Local MP Huw Edwards secured an adjournment debate in the House of commons on 12 October, the subject “Sale of woodlands and use of the article 4 Directive.
